Chocolate Banana Cake with Chocolate Glaze

This week I made a Chocolate Banana Cake.  This recipe is meant to be baked in a loaf pan but works best as a sheet cake for the office.  Instead of scaling the recipe for a 9" x 13" pan (1 1/2 quantity) I doubled the recipe and baked it in two 7" x 11" pans.

Chocolate Cake with Orange

This week I have made a Chocolate Cake and added some orange zest to the mix. I have also used the juice of half an orange in the buttercream icing (frosting).

Bumbleberry Cake and Giant Jaffa (Orange) Cake

Yesterday there was some bonus baking in the form of a Giant Jaffa Cake (with the orange jelly layer being homemade).  This was a joint birthday cake for the two birthdays recently celebrated. Quantities were definitely limited as it was only part of the original cake (next time I will down-size the recipe).

For today's cake I am hoping to coax some better weather with a fruity Bumbleberry Cake.  Usually made in the form of a bundt, this cake works best for the office as a 9 x 13.

Banana Cake with Chocolate Chips and Orange Buttercream Frosting

Baking is back on track this week. Due to business travel there were no cakes baked.

I am trying out a different Banana Cake recipe, this one contains chocolate chips and is more like a pound cake.  This cake has been frosted with Orange Buttercream.
